ICSS and World Ethnosport Confederation join forces for youth empowerment through traditional sports
In a commitment towards promoting and supporting traditional sports and games, the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) and World Ethnosport Confederation signed an agreement during the 3rd International World Ethnosport Forum held in Antalya, Turkey.
The ICSS through its Save the Dream Initiative, together with World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC) will work towards empowering youth from urban and rural communities through sport with the focus on the field of traditional sports and games.
The agreement aims at utilising sport to promote inter-cultural dialogue, socio-economic development, build peace and prevent violent extremism while protecting respect of diversity as well as promoting sport volunteerism in the context of Ethnosport and other major sporting events.
During the agreement signing, Bilal Erdoğan, President of World Ethnosport said “It is with great pleasure that we join forces with the ICSS and its Save the Dream initiative to use the power of volunteerism to create solidarity through traditional sport. The aim of WEC is to increase the awareness and promote the popularity of traditional sports and games around the globe and with this agreement we look forward to creating an environment of social values and youth empowerment.”
