Save The Dream and Cultural Leonesa to Share Values

Leon, 6 September 2015. Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa is proud to present the ICSS campaign ‘Save the Dream’ as a new partner of the club. Together with Aspire, the club will join forces with ICSS, the International Centre for Sport Security, to promote values and integrity in sport.

‘Save the Dream’ has been conceived by the International Centre for Sport Security and the Qatar Olympic Committee to promote and protect the core values of sport for young people at a global level. Save the Dream works to empower youth and inspire societies towards a sport free from corruption, violence and discrimination.

Since its launch in 2012, ‘Save the Dream’ has gained overwhelming endorsements and support for its cause and built a strong coalition comprising sport persons, elite athletes, international bodies, sport and civil society organizations and many other entities who share the same vision.

Football World Champion Alessandro Del Piero functions as Captain of the Athlete Ambassador Team, that also includes other high-profile personalities such as former Spain captain Fernando Hierro, Double Olympic Gold medallist in swimming Penny Heyns or Olympic and World Champion Volleyball Player and Coach Lorenzi Bernardi.

As part of this cooperation, Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa is going to wear the ‘Save the Dream’ logo on their jerseys as a symbol for the club’s commitment to the purity of sport and the club is signing a manifesto to officially affiliated with the initiative.

The cooperation will also include a Save the Dream “Young Athletes Empowerment” program, which will include workshops for coaches on sport values and integrity. These professionals will be provided with state of the art tailor-made educational tools and methods to empower young athletes.

“Raising awareness for the need to educate young people about ethics and values of sport is a very important issue and I am glad that we could partner up with the ‘Save the Dream’ initiative. Sport is a source of inspiration for many people, but especially for young ones. And it is a huge responsibility for us all to protect them from dangers that can arise in nowadays sport”, says Aspire Academy Director General Ivan Bravo.

The official launch of the partnership will take place at ASPIRE4SPORT in Berlin during October.
