What exactly makes a sporting event ‘major’? The reality is there is no accepted single definition to refer to sporting events of significant size, scope, and impact. For the purposes of this course, Major Sporting Events (MSE) will involve multi-venue, multi-sport events such as a FIFA World Cup, and the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. However, this definition will also include single sporting events such as the Champions League Final, the Superbowl or annual national football league cup finals. The characteristics, threats, requirements, documentation, and best practices of ensuring the safety and security of an MSE will better equip you with the required knowledge and understanding in safeguarding and securing your future sporting events.

The aim of the course ‘Major Sporting Event Safety and Security’ is to introduce you to the characteristics, threats, requirements, documentation, and best practices of ensuring the safety and security of Major Sporting Events.
