This edition of the ICSS Journal provides details of the FITS project and a summary of the FITS Forum, a gathering convened by the ICSS of sport, government and finance leaders that addressed the many elements of financial integrity and transparency in sport. Financial integrity in sport means preventing all forms of illicit enactments generated at the cost of sport and its owners, namely the nations of the world. The FIFA case for example, is not simply the result of human mistakes; it is the result of a systemic and structural failure, which goes beyond FIFA itself. Sport must remain autonomous, but act under best practice good governance. Sport has reached a point where there is desperate need for the creation of an independent and neutral global oversight body that monitors all sporting governing bodies.
