Joint statement from the ICSS and Chris Eaton

7 April 2017: The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) has announced the departure of Chris Eaton as a sport integrity adviser to the organisation.

With over 40 years’ experience in the field of international law enforcement, security and integrity, Chris joined the ICSS from FIFA in April 2012 and was a driving force in creating and expanding a specialist sport integrity unit at the ICSS.

Under Chris’s guidance and leadership as Executive Director for Sport Integrity, ICSS experts have conducted numerous investigations for organisations and clients in the sports industry, alongside its ongoing work strengthening international policy to fight match-fixing and enhancing anti-corruption efforts within sport. More recently, Chris has been working as a Sport Integrity Adviser to the ICSS President.

Paying tribute to Chris, Mohammed Hanzab, President of the ICSS, said:

“Since joining the ICSS, Chris has been the driving force in creating the ICSS Sport Integrity Directorate and has been a passionate and well-respected voice on various integrity issues facing sport. On behalf of the ICSS, I would like to extend a very warm and heartfelt thanks to Chris for all his achievements and work and wish him all the very best for his future endeavours.”

Chris Eaton said:

“I would like to extend a special and heartfelt thanks to Mohammed for creating the ICSS, giving me the unique opportunity to create a specialist sport integrity unit, as well as allowing me to contribute to such a special project.

“The ICSS is a truly unique organisation, especially in the sport integrity field. Through its combination of courageous independence, untied funding, capability and resilience, I am confident the ICSS will continue to go from strength-to-strength and wish it all the very best in the future.”

The ICSS will continue to offer a range of sport integrity services, including integrity advice, training as well as investigations and intelligence.
